If you’ve had a really stressful day and you want to listen to some relaxing music that is light, joyful, and soothing, then check out the work of Rachel Portman. She is one of my favorite modern composers. Her melodies take you back to a time when life wasn’t so complicated. Yet the rich tonality that results from blending harp, strings and flute makes your heart swell. Sometimes music doesn’t need words to deepen your appreciation of the beauty of God’s creation and magnificence. Click on the picture above or Rachel’s name for a sample of her work.
